Victoria
Victoria
Practice Manager, Veterinary Technician
Growing up, Victoria’s family never kept less than five pets in the house—animal care is simply in her nature. She’s also had a lifelong passion for educating others. What better way to spend time around the creatures she loves and help pet owners at the same time, Victoria thought, than by entering the world of veterinary medicine?

Victoria is originally from West Bloomfield, Michigan and used to work in the culinary arts field. After deciding to make a change in 2015, she started working at a horse farm in Holly, Michigan before starting classes to study veterinary technology. Near the end of her schooling, Victoria interned at a local animal hospital and was hired on as an employee shortly afterward. She’s been a veterinary professional ever since!

Victoria joined the Orion Animal Care Center family when the practice opened and loves to find new ways to lead her veterinary team to success. She’s extremely passionate about encouraging continued education, and she has a special passion for working with rescue pets. Victoria never passes up a chance to jump in and help hands-on, since she’s a fully-trained Veterinary Technician in addition to her role as Practice Manager.

Away from work, Victoria is an avid equestrian and rides horses at least once a week. She’s also fond of cooking and looks for any excuse to prepare extravagant dishes. At home, Victoria and her husband share their lives with three cats: Dexter, Hope, and Serenity.
Crystal
Crystal
Veterinary Technician
Crystal has been interested in the behavior and healthcare of animals ever since she can remember. She always suspected that a career spent helping pets live happier, healthier lives would suit her well. Crystal knew that veterinary medicine was the field for her! Now, she cares for the pets and animal owners of the area as a member of Orion Animal Care Center’s Veterinary Technician team.

Crystal is a Michigan native and first launched her animal-care journey in 2005, when she started working as a Kennel Assistant. She’s been a pet-care professional ever since. Crystal joined the Orion Animal Care Center family in August of 2019 as a Veterinary Technician, and has special passions for anesthesia work and surgical procedures. Most of all, she loves to interact one-on-one with the pets and animal owners of the area and impart everything she’s learned over the years to help companions feel better.

When she’s not at work, Crystal likes gardening, camping—she recently performed a complete renovation on a camper!—and spending quality time with her family. She has two sons, and the family shares their home with a dog named Dakota.
Alyssa
Alyssa
Veterinary Technician
Alyssa has had an affinity for animals all her life. She has fond memories of helping to feed calves on her grandfather’s farm, and later volunteering at a sea turtle hospital to help rehabilitate and save the majestic creatures. For her, working hands-on to better the lives of the earth’s creatures is simply what she loves to do! Alyssa couldn’t be happier to continue her veterinary journey here at Orion Animal Care Center, and she even hopes to attend veterinary school in the future.

Alyssa is originally from Flint, Michigan and also lived in Arizona and New York before returning to her home state. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in animal science from the State University of New York-Cobleskill, then began her career as a Veterinary Technician immediately afterward. Alyssa joined the team here at Orion Animal Care Center in July of 2020, and she’s been helping the area’s pets and animal parents ever since.

As a Tech, Alyssa has a special passion for surgical work because of the way it allows her to better understand the anatomy and physiology of our animal friends. Most of all, she loves knowing that her hard work makes a lasting difference for patients and their families alike.

When she’s not at work, Alyssa enjoys hiking, long-distance running, and horseback riding. She’s competed in many horse shows with Dan, her spunky Quarter horse, and she’s even won Grand and Reserve Champion in the past! Alyssa also shares her life with a loveable German Shorthaired Pointer named Buck.
Sydney
Sydney
Veterinary Assistant
Sydney grew up in Oxford, Michigan but often spent time in the summers visiting her uncle, who works as a veterinarian in New Jersey. Hearing his stories of saving pets’ lives made a lasting impression on Sydney—she knew that she would love to help animals in a hands-on way herself! She gets to put her passion for pets to good use every day as a member of Orion Animal Care Center’s Veterinary Assistant team.

Sydney began her veterinary journey by signing on to work at a dog kennel. Next, she secured a job as a Veterinary Assistant at another practice in the area, where she learned the ropes of the profession. In August of 2019, Sydney accepted a position here at Orion Animal Care Center, and she hasn’t looked back since. She’s particularly fond of critical-care work and she also has a soft spot for the clinic’s equine patients, having adored horses ever since she was young.

Most of Sydney’s time away from work is also spent with animals. She loves to go horseback riding whenever she can, and she also likes competing in agility, Frisbee, lure coursing, and dock diving with her beloved Australian Shepherd, Saber. Sydney and her family also share their lives with two other dogs: Blu, a rambunctious and loving Pit Bull, and a sassy Newfoundland named Nova.
Lori
Lori
Receptionist
Lori’s aunt used to work at a veterinary clinic, and she would take Lori along to the office with her on occasion. Those experiences made a permanent impression. Lori knew almost instantly that she wanted to work hands-on with pets herself! Now, her dream is a reality—Lori is a receptionist here at Orion Animal Care Center and looks forward to continuing her journey in animal medicine as time goes on.

Originally from Fenton, Lori joined the Orion Animal Care Center family in early June of 2020 and couldn’t be happier to launch her journey in animal care right here at the clinic. She recently enrolled in a veterinary technology program, and plans on becoming a Veterinary Technician in the near future to help pets in an even more hands-on way. Lori especially likes interacting with pet owners and their companions at the front desk, and she loves the fact that no two days are ever quite the same here at the hospital—her work definitely keeps her on her toes!

When she’s not at the office, Lori likes exercising, enjoying the great outdoors, and spending time with her family. She has a wonderful son, and she and her fiancé have several pets at home: three dogs and a pair of cats, all of whom have their own unique personalities.
