Dr. Jake Jelsema

Hi, I’m Dr. Jake Jelsema. I’m originally from Grand Rapids and earned my undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University in 2017, followed by my DVM from Michigan State University in 2022. Go Green! I now live in Berkley with my significant other, Shelby, and our two cats, Winifred and Theodora. While I have a special interest in dermatology, one of my favorite and most rewarding parts of being a veterinarian is helping strengthen the bond between people and their pets by improving patient quality of life. Outside of work, I enjoy weight training, playing video games, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing pickleball, and being outdoors. I’m so excited to join the great team at Orion Animal Care Center and collaborate with you on your pets’ care!
